The Chiesa dei Gesuati (also known as Santa Maria del Rosario), is a picturesque eighteenth-century church facing the Canale della Giudecca.
It is Venice’s largest monastery complex built in 1726-1735 by the architect Giorgio Massari for the Jesuit Order (run by the Dominicans since 1868) to take the place of the small church that still stands next to it today.

The façade is typical of the palladiano style, split into three sections by large Corinth columns.
The interior is well-lit and has a single nave and three chapels.
The church contains some excellent examples of rococo sculpture by Gianmaria Morlaiter and a few fine paintings such as Tintoretto’s "Crucifixion" and Tiepolo’s "The Three Saints", plus some magnificent altarpieces by Piazzetta and Sebastiano Ricci.
The ceiling is richly decorated with frescoes by Giambattista Tiepolo, depicting the life of St. Dominic and the Institution of the Rosary.
